The Veranda Announces Lineup of Fall Events Featuring Music, Autumn Festivities and the Return of the Veranda Ice Rink
Concord, Calif. (October 12, 2022) – The Veranda officially announces their fall holiday events schedule featuring family-friendly activities and the conclusion of their highly successful Unplugged concert series. And as is now tradition, the Veranda will host a seasonal outdoor ice rink starting November 4 that will run through Valentine’s Day 2023.
“As we move into the fall season, there are many holidays and observances to celebrate. The Veranda is getting into the spirit of the season with a wide variety of family-friendly events and entertainment experiences,” said Christa Williams, marketing manager at The Veranda.
Halloween and Día de Los Muertos Activities
The mood will get spooky with the Kids Club Halloween: Mummy & Me Fest slated for Sunday, October 16 at 10 a.m. Guests can do their best zombie shuffle over to the Fountain Pavilion Park where Andy Z will perform a 1-hour Halloween musical showcase with his Andyland Trio – costumes are encouraged! After the event, families who purchase an Event + Movie ticket are invited to watch a special presentation of the 2016 hit movie Hotel Transylvania. Our friends at Caballeros Barber Lounge are proud to sponsor the Veranda’s free Día de Los Muertos event on Sunday, November 6 at 10 a.m. Inside the office building lobby behind Mikuni, guests will be welcomed with traditional Día de Los Muertos treats, face and arm painters and a performance by Ballet Folklorico. Guests are also invited to enter to win a prize package which includes a Blu-ray of the movie Coco.
Skating Into the Season
Since its opening in 2017, the Veranda has famously hosted a seasonal outdoor ice rink in the fall and winter months at the plaza by the Fountain Pavilion Park. Ice at the Veranda is back for the 2022-2023 season starting on November 4 and running through the winter. Skate rentals are available on site and all ages are welcome. Unplugged Wraps Up the 2022 Season with Free Concerts on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm
The Veranda is proud to wrap up the 2022 Season of its free Unplugged concert series with a diverse lineup reflective of the variety of cultures and musical traditions of the Bay Area.
The Ariel Marin Quartet joins the Veranda on October 12. The award-winning multi-genre band features multi-platinum producer James “Jae-E” Early and plays it all from Fleetwood Mac to
Motown, Sade to Top 40 and all your favorite classics. Ariel and her band will be bringing a high energy funk show to the Fountain Pavilion Park, so get ready to dance.
On October 19, guests will be treated to both music and dance as the local Concord band Kolohe bring the sounds of Polynesia and contemporary covers with an unmistakable island vibe featuring the dancers of Ka 'Ohi Nani o Mana'olana.
To close out this year’s series, the Big Blu Soul Revue bring some heat to lowering fall temperatures on October 26. With influences ranging from soul legends like Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin to funk and jazz artists like Sly & the Family Stone and Herbie Hancock, the band will light up the stage with a passion for those 60s and 70s classic sounds.
